It seems these days that the video game sector is crowded with numerous companies. Each company has hit games series and seems to have a roller coaster in earnings based on game releases. Several companies are buying into social gaming. Other companies, like Activision are relying on recurring revenue from users’ monthly subscription fees. Currently eleven million users pay ten to fifteen dollars a month to play World of Warcraft, and Activision Blizzard owned property.
This blog is set up to offer stock picks for individual investors. The picks will provide research from annual reports, websites, and newspapers. The articles will entertain and educate.

Potential Buyout Candidates
With all the recent takeover deals announced I decided to take a look at some possible buyout targets still left. Some of the stocks are known takeover targets, others might be more speculative buyout targets. The prices listed are as of close on 1/15/10.

Imax Adds Another Blockbuster in 2010.
Yesterday an annoucement came from Imax, Marvel Entertainment, and Paramount.

Femsa and Heineken Deal Good For Both Parties
Recently it was announced that Heineken would acquire the beer division of Mexican company Fomento Economico Mexicano, better known as Femsa. Femsa operates in three segments: Femsa Cerveza, Coca Cola Femsa, and Femsa Comerico. The company has been looking to get rid of the beer unit and has decided on Heineken as the suitor.
